Diablo III Gets a New Expansion

According to an official press release from Blizzard Entertainment, they have announced the release of a new expansion pack for Diablo III called Rise of the Necromancer. This long-awaited expansion for the popular title introduces a new class called the Necromancer.

The necromancer class was first introduced in Diablo II. These were known as Priests of Rathma, and with this class, players could command armies of undead minions. In Diablo III, according the press release, players can draw upon the power of blood and bone to protect humanity, transforming their slain enemies into undead servants who fight for you. Or you can simply blow them up, player choice.

Included with the new expansion pack will be a twisted and misshapen half-formed golem in-game pet, cosmetic wings of the crypt guardian, two additional character slots, two stash tabs (pc only), new necromancer portrait, banner, sigil, accent, and blood master pennant. Players often ask Blizzard to bring back classes found in previous Diablo titles, but by far, Necromancer has been the most requested according to Mike Morhaime, CEO and founder of Blizzard Entertainment, “Reimagining the nectomancer was a labor of love, we worked hard to capture the essece of what made the class so iconic, while taking advantage of everything Diablo III has to offer.”

Players who play on console who don’t yet own Diablo III will be able to get their hands on the digital-only Eternal Collection, which will include the Rise of the Necromancer pack, Diablo III, and the award-winning Reaper of Souls expansion for PS4 and Xbox One. For anyone who has never played, this would be the perfect package for anyone new to the game. It has been described as the perfect couch co-op gaming experience.

The expansion pack will be available for Windows, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One on June 27, for $14.99. The Diablo III Eternal collection bundle will be available to Playstation Plus members on PS4 and Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One for a limited time at a special introductory price of $39.99 (regularly $59.99). All of these packs are fully realized in english, Brazilian portugese, eurpoean and latin American Spanish, French, german, Italian, polish, Russian, Korean and Chinese.
